Carter Transport supports and encourages staff to undertake job-relevant training for personal and professional development. This not only benefits the worker, but the organisation overall. We always support and encourage formal training and cover any expenses. Where required, we agree to flexible work arrangements to ensure workers have ample time to complete relevant studies, assignments, and attend study support sessions.

It is important to us that our staff are comfortable to ask for assistance when needed and we encourage an “open door” approach. This incentivises staff to speak with us regardless of how big or small they perceive an issue to be.

The organisation has implemented and maintains annual performance reviews with all workers that incorporate agreeing to and implementing personal development plans for the coming year. Through this process, our workers have the freedom to nominate areas of interest where they may like to undertake additional training and we agree on an action plan to assist them achieve their goals.

We encourage workers to attend industry networking functions to enable them to gain knowledge and keep up to date with current industry activities, concerns, and trends.

We believe our flexible approach to training and including workers in decision-making processes fosters a culture of job satisfaction and motivation.

Carter Heavy Haulage & Transport engages in and hosts social and networking events that include staff, customers, contractors, and clients. We hold team-building events for our staff and include partners and spouses in the activities. Many a fun day/night and lots of belly laughs have been had at these events.

We believe our workers and their families are not only a part of the “Carter Team” but are also part of our family.

Part of Carter’s “secret sauce” is teamwork. Josh and Leonnie are always keen to reflect on the “Carter crew” and pay respect to their team of employees.

We have a big focus to build and cement solid relationships with our staff, families, and clients.”

Carter Heavy Haulage & Transport has always maintained a focus on safety. The company’s original business plan has evolved over the years, but the roots are still strong.

“We aim to provide safe, professional, cost-effective heavy haulage transport, regionally, state-wide, and across Australia,” Leonnie says. “What’s the measure off success? It’s nice to reflect on some statistics, such as our 92% employee retention rate, and our 1808 days LTI-free.”

Leonnie is involved in all aspects of our business. With strong business acumen and knowledge of the industry, she is integral to ensuring all jobs run smoothly, providing clients with an exeptional customer experience.

Ebony is responsible for managing all client and business related enquiries. Her Administration role involves ensuring the best possible client experience and that team members have the tools to work efficiently.

Driver & Diesel Mechanic

Jake is responsible for ensuring client equipment is transported safely and efficiently. He is also in charge of ensuring our fleet is safe for the road and our drivers. You will likely find Jake behind the wheel of the T409 SAR.

Ben is the proud driver of our Kenworth T659. He also plays a key role in our company by overseeing all equipment to ensure it is safety compliant and quality assured.

Darryl Dickson

Driver

Darryl is one of our passionate and experienced truck drivers, who you’ll find on the road behind our Kenworth K200 big cab. Darryl is also versed in compliance, permits and curfews, helping Carter Heavy Haulage to meet and exceed standards in these areas of operation.
