With a major project in the works for Hunter Quarries, AllQuip Water Trucks needed local transport expertise to achieve their desired outcome.
The job seemed like familiar territory. To provide safe and quality assured transport from one location in the Hunter to the next.
But this job was much bigger than that. This was a unique project in the region – a first of its kind. And a milestone for AllQuip.
Helping AllQuip reach a business milestone
AllQuip Water Trucks were given the unique opportunity to retrofit a water tank to a CAT 740B Articulated Dump Truck.
Our job was split into two key parts.
- Transport the water tank in its original condition from Hunter Quarries to AllQuip’s workshop.
- Transport the refurbished Dump Truck safely back to Hunter Quarries.
With the power and capacity of our Kenworth fleet and Drake trailers we were able to see this project come to life.
This unique solution has now provided Hunter Quarries with a state-of-the-art mining spec water cart with advanced dust suppression features.
Now in operation on-site at Karuah, the tanker is key to ensuring dust minimisation at the quarry site and surrounding areas.
A collaboration for the history books
National Business Development Manager at AllQuip Water Trucks, Simon Wylie said that refurbishing an old water tank was a great way for their business to provide an innovative solution considering increased equipment/product demands.
“With border restrictions and international delays in equipment/products, a lot of increased demand has had to be turned away. We don’t want to be another local manufacturer to fall prey to this,” Simon said.
“Being able to take something old, like a rusty water tank, and repurpose it to suit new conditions was an innovative turning point for us. To have the road transport support of Carter Heavy Haulage made this overall process seamless,” he said.
“The team were extremely professional, punctual and had great communication. For them to be part of this milestone is as much of an achievement for them as it is us, and we are incredibly appreciative.”
